##Detailed Itinerary##

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at the airport, our representative will be there to welcome you. Please look for someone holding a placard with your name on it. After meeting you, they will escort you to your hotel in a private car. The drive takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic.

Once you arrive at the hotel, you will receive a briefing about your upcoming trip. After that, the rest of the day is free; you can choose to rest at the hotel or explore the area at your own pace.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan- Jungle activities
After an early Breakfast, at 07:00 AM, you begin the drive to Chitwan.
The drive from Kathmandu to Barahi Jungle Lodge in Chitwan by private vehicle takes approximately 6–7 hours, covering a distance of around 178 km. The journey follows the Tribhuvan Highway to Naubise, then continues along the scenic Prithvi Highway toward Mugling, and finally onto the East-West (Mahendra) Highway through Bharatpur and Meghauli. The route offers beautiful views of hills, rivers (like the Trisuli), and local villages, though road conditions can vary due to ongoing construction or weather-related disruptions, especially around Mugling. From Bharatpur, it's about an hour’s drive to the lodge, which is set on the Rapti River near Chitwan National Park.
Upon arrival at the lodge, a welcome drink is served, and there will be a short briefing on the
program and our facilities, rooms will be assigned.

After 1:00, Lunch is served.

3.30 PM: Boat safari (Afternoon) with Sundowner at confluence point. Floating downstream the Rapti River, towards the western boundary of the park formed by the Himalayan Narayani, a boat safari will be arranged for the evening time, offering our unique sundowner experience at the confluence point.
Duration – approx. 2:00 Hours

7:00 PM: PowerPoint presentation about flora and fauna, Or Evening Cultural Program. One of our jungle experts will introduce background data and history of the Chitwan National Park, as well as some other topics relating to wildlife. Your questions are most welcome.
Or guests can indulge in a cultural program, and if guests are interested, power PowerPoint presentation can be offered on another chosen following evening.
8.00 PM: Dinner

Day 3: Jungle Activities
6:30 AM- Wakeup call followed by Breakfast at Banyan café. After breakfast, proceed for Jeep Safari: Duration – Approx 4-5 Hours.
Proceed for the Jeep Safari crossing the Rapti River by Patela Boat to start with from the Bhimle army check post. There are two choices of routes available, which our naturalists pick upon their experience of current sightings and
animal movement.

After Safari, leisure time to relax by the pool or use of Spa Facilities till lunchtime.
1:00 PM-:unch at Banyan Café or by the pool

2.00 PM: Walking safari inside the National Park: After Lunch, proceed towards the Rapti River just in front of our resort,t in Boat put in point and cross the river on a panga boat. After crossing the river, start a Nature Walk inside the Chitwan NationalParkk to explore the different oxbow lakes like Devi Tal, Munda Tal, Lamo Tal, and Kamal Tal) to view the Marsh Mugger and different mammals, aquatic and other bird species.
Duration – Approx -3-4 Hours

Back to the lodge and relax by the pool for the rest of the late afternoon, or use the spa/couple massage room facility at the lodge.

2:00 PM: Short Village Walk: A visit around the village on foot to experience the daily life of the village people in the company of an experienced communicator to enhance knowledge on the life of the Tharu people
Duration – approx. -2 Hours

7.00 PM: Tharu Cultural Dance OR Kumal Cultural Dance: Farmers of the nearby villages will show some of their traditional skills and dances.

7.30-8.00 PM: Dinner at Banyan café or by the pool

Day 4: Grassland & Woodland Bird Safari
Spend a day spotting birds from early morning to late evening, from East to West, sunrise to sunset. Early Morning Jeep Safari (East): Explore grasslands and mixed habitats from Bhimle Army Check Post to Budhi Rapti area, focusing on diverse grassland bird species.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon Jeep Safari (West): Journey through woodland and wetland habitats to track species like hornbills, drongos, and parakeets.
Return to the lodge and freshen up.
Evening Bird Walk inside Lodge Premises: Search for nocturnal species such as owls and nightjars around the lodge.

Day 5: Aquatic Wonders & Vulture Conservation
Experience close encounters with reptiles and fauna. Explore the park on a jeep and by boat, and visit the Gharial Breeding Centre for a complete wilderness experience.
Extended Boat Safari: Drift through the Rapti and Narayani rivers, some of Chitwan’s richest aquatic bird habitats, towards Amaltari Ghat. Spot bird species such as ruddy shelduck, goosander, storks, kingfishers, cormorants, egrets, and marsh harriers.
Riverside Breakfast: Dine amidst pristine wilderness while observing bird activity along the riverbanks.
Visit Jatayu Vulture Restaurant in Kawasoti, Nawalparasi. A community-led conservation initiative that has been working towards saving endangered species of vultures, including the white-rumped vulture, the slender-billed vulture, and the red-headed vulture. Learn about vulture conservation and the restaurant’s success story.
Return to the lodge (approx time 1.5 hours/ 65 kilometres). Enjoy lunch.
Late Afternoon Bird Walk: Guided walk inside the national park. Observe birds in the riverine forest and grassland edges. Possible sightings include woodpeckers, drongos, minivets and warblers.

Day 6: Full-Day Birding Expedition in Chitwan National Park
Spend a full day inside the National Park premises on a jeep safari, including lunch served, surrounded by wilderness.
Early morning breakfast at the lodge. Begin the jeep safari tour and cover multiple habitats such as sal forests, wetlands, and grasslands, with a goal to maximise your species checklist. Spot species such as hornbills, peafowl, raptors, parakeets, storks, and babblers. For maximum sightings, your expert guides will accompany you, explaining bird behaviour and habitat preferences.
Jungle Picnic Lunch. Enjoy a scenic outdoor meal in the heart of the park. Return to the jeep safari to spot rare species such as Bengal florican, great hornbill, and grey-headed fish eagle. Return to the lodge in the evening to enjoy a Kumal Cultural Performance. Evening Kumal Cultural Performance: Celebrate the rich traditions of the local Kumal community.

Day 7: Drive back to Kathmandu
Free morning and late wakeup call around 7.00- 7.30 AM
7:30-10:00 AM: Breakfast at the Banyan Café or by the Pool.
After checking out from Jungle Lodge, you’ll begin the return drive to Kathmandu between 10:30 and 11:00 AM. The journey typically takes 6 to 7 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions, so an afternoon departure means you’ll likely reach Kathmandu in the early evening. The route follows the East-West Highway to Mugling, then continues via the Prithvi and Tribhuvan Highways back into the Kathmandu Valley. Expect scenic views along the way, with opportunities to stop for refreshments or rest at roadside eateries. Leaving around this time allows for a relaxed morning at the lodge before the drive, though starting earlier is often recommended to avoid afternoon traffic, especially closer to Kathmandu.

Day 8: Departure
On your final day in Nepal, depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport for your departure in a private vehicle. You must reach the airport three hours before your flight.
